What is a Physical Therapist?
The state of Texas defines physical therapy as "a form of health care that prevents, identifies, corrects, or alleviates acute or prolonged movement dysfunction or pain of anatomic or physiologic origin."
Do you accept insurance?
At Thrive On Physical Therapy, we pride ourselves on offering unparalleled care as an out-of-network provider. Our approach is rooted in a cash-based system, ensuring that our clients receive precisely the care they need, guided solely by the clinical expertise of their therapist—not by insurance mandates.
With our commitment to transparency, we operate under upfront pricing, eliminating any surprises in billing after your episode of care. All appointments are settled in full at the time of service, providing clarity and peace of mind.
For clients seeking insurance reimbursement, we happily provide a comprehensive super bill containing all necessary information for self-submission. Additionally, we accept Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) cards for physical therapy sessions, offering flexibility and accessibility in financing your care journey.
At Thrive On Physical Therapy, our mission is to empower you on your path to wellness, ensuring that your journey is guided by expertise, transparency, and unwavering support.
Why Cash Based Care?
Cash-based care offers numerous advantages, including:
1. **Unlimited Visits**: Unlike insurance-based care, there are no limits imposed on the number of visits for your episode of care. This ensures that your treatment plan is tailored solely to your needs, without restrictions.
2. **Personalized Attention**: Every session is conducted on a one-on-one basis, guaranteeing undivided attention and tailored treatment exclusively focused on your needs. You'll never share your session time with another client, allowing for truly individualized care.
3. **Comprehensive Treatment Approach**: We prioritize treating the entirety of YOU, not just isolated body parts. Our adaptable approach means we can address any new issues or concerns that arise between sessions, ensuring holistic care that encompasses all aspects of your well-being.
4. **Efficiency and Effectiveness**: Research shows that individualized, one-on-one care leads to more efficient outcomes, requiring fewer visits to achieve your goals. This means you spend less time in treatment and more time enjoying life to the fullest.
5. **Reduced Frequency of Visits**: With our personalized approach, the frequency of visits is typically just once per week, compared to the 2-3 times per week often required in standard outpatient clinics. This streamlined approach maximizes your time and resources while still delivering exceptional results.
At Thrive On Physical Therapy, we believe in empowering our clients through personalized, efficient, and comprehensive care, ensuring that every aspect of your health and wellness journey is optimized for success.
What does that alphabet soup after my name stand for?
PT: This abbreviation denotes a licensed physical therapist, authorized to practice physical therapy.
DPT: This acronym represents the degree attained upon completion of physical therapy school—Doctor of Physical Therapy. To become a PT, an individual typically completes a bachelor's degree from a four-year institution before applying to a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. This doctoral program typically spans three additional years beyond the bachelor's degree.
OCS: This designation signifies an individual who has been certified by the Board of Physical Therapy as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. To qualify for this certification, I successfully completed a rigorous Orthopedic Residency program before sitting for the examination to earn this distinguished credential.
Do I need a medical doctor's referral/prescription to be seen in physical therapy.
In compliance with the state of Texas Direct Access Law, individuals may seek physical therapy services directly for up to 15 business days from a residency-trained physical therapist without requiring a medical doctor's referral. Should treatment extend beyond this initial period, a referral from a medical doctor will be necessary.
As part of our commitment to transparency and efficient care, we will assess early in your episode of care whether treatment is expected to exceed the 15 business days threshold. This ensures clarity and facilitates any necessary arrangements to continue your care seamlessly.
